Our vision

Legacy Point believes that every child is uniquely gifted by God, with talents, gifts and potential. We are honored to partner with our parents as we guide, develop and instruct our students to approach learning with curiosity, a spirit of excellence and a kaizen aptitude.

Our Mission

We exist to develop and nurture our young ones in a conducive, accepting, challenging learning environment. Our energies and efforts, in academics, arts and sports are focused on training our students to be wholesome, compassionate and confident.

Our Core Values

We believe in preserving the uniqueness of each child, while nurturing him/her to explore learning with positive affirmation and clear guidance. While we celebrate the gem in each child, a deep respect for others, peers and authority must be cultivated. Kindness and compassion must accompany the pursuit of success. We endeavor to preserve a harmonious culture, embracing students from around the world and partnering with parents in this honored responsibility of educating and training their precious children.

Our Founders

Mr. John William Gomez

FOUNDER & Principal

| Bachelors of Applied Arts and Science, USA

| Established the Covenant Language of Development Resources Homeschool (K.L).

| Consultant for a number of other Homeschooling Projects across Malaysia. Being a facilitator and academic instructor for 25 years.

I was approached 26 years ago to start a school for children that would encapsulate values and raise the standard of education. Our young people were facing a number of challenges in character and academics. I had to learn fast and adapt as we started from ground zero to where we are. Parents entrusted us and we gained courage each time we saw the difference our efforts were making in individual lives. We have grown and today we have a system that will better prepare students as they step into their next level, whatever that might be.

Ms. Christine Gomez

CO-FOUNDER & ADMINSTRATOR

| Certificate in Children Ministry, USA | Bachelors of Arts in Business Administration, USA. (Accounting & Finance)

Founding Legacy Point was a natural extension of our own efforts of homeschooling our 4 children some 13 years ago. Legacy Point exists to provide a quality alternative for parents who wish their children to be schooled in a holistic and positive environment. Being an educator for more than 30 years, holistic education is embedded deep in my belief system. I am passionate in making sure that each child reaches his/her full potential and discover more about their identity and themselves. Over the years, I find myself desirous to learn and grow so that I can continually be relevant in my approach and content. Research, technology, methodology and innovation are upscaling at such challenging speed that staying abreast and current will help us brave new waves and prepare our children adequately for them.

“Climb as high as you can, stay grounded on time-honored principles, and open your hearts wide. If you do these, when success seeks you out, you will not be destroyed”. Chris G

Ms. Alice Tan

Mandarin Teacher

I’m currently pursuing a Diploma in Education Psychology. With 8 years of teaching experience, I love to see students learning and enjoying their studies. When students enjoy their lessons, they learn faster, are easier to handle and become very cooperative. Teaching is really fun. I am especially passionate about teaching Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia for all ages.

I also use drawing, online apps, and teaching prompts as I believe learning must be fun, engaging and dynamic.

Ms. Sofia Mae G.

Head of social media & marketing

Currently working with Legacy to provide families whom move to Langkawi seeking for quality and long-term education. I have a diploma in Early Childhood Education from MCKL as well! I am genuinely so excited to be apart of this homeschool where organic and wholesome growth is strived for everyday within each child.

Learning is never done without errors and defeat.

Ms. Sasha Asri

Class Sakura's Head Teacher

A passionate teacher who believes that education is one of the most powerful weapons in life.
Received a Foundation in Law from University of MARA and currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, majoring in Political Science, minor in Malay Literature at the University of Science Malaysia (USM).

Started my teaching journey 6 years ago and I enjoyed doing it ever since. Helping each child progress in all areas of their development—academic, social, and language is a challenge that I am honored to accept daily.

Before joining Legacy Point Academy, I had an experience in part-time lecturing and tutoring at the Institute of Agriculture and it had broadened up my teaching skills to cater to all ages. Yes, every child is different and unique in their own way, but I believe that consistency is always the key to success and that requires a lot of discipline in oneself.

Hence, being an educator is also to motivate and bring the best out of them. Seeing the daily growth in each student is what keeps me going everyday.
